Event Navigation

What did the first alphabet look like? Did artists actually create the first letters? How did things evolve into our current writing system? Answers to these and other visually fascinating language questions are covered in this unique Cleveland Museum of Art program. Participants will enjoy a white-gloved interactive experience featuring genuine art objects at this special presentation on the history of the written language. Come see and hold ancient and modern tablets, books, printing blocks and papyrus brought by museum staff. Join Solon Library for Art of the Alphabet, Wednesday, May 22nd at 7:00pm. This program is made possible by the Friends of the Solon Library. To register for this event, call the Library at 440.248.8777 or visit www.cuyahogalibrary.org.
