DESCRIPTION:Take in the beauty of thousands of sunflowers while honoring the lives of children gone too soon at Maria’s Field of Hope in Avon\, opening Friday\, Aug. 29.\n\n\nThe field was planted by the Prayers From Maria Foundation\, established in memory of Maria McNamara\, who passed away from a deadly brain tumor at age 7. The foundation is dedicated to funding groundbreaking research into childhood brain cancer while also offering families a place of hope\, healing and remembrance.\n\n \n\n\nThere is no fee to walk the field\, but donations are encouraged to support life-saving research and to help keep the sunflowers blooming for years to come.\n\n\nMaria’s Field of Hope is located off Jaycox Road along I-90\, with parking accessible from Middleton Road. Visitors can also stop by Maria’s Shop\, open daily from 10 a.m. to dusk and run entirely by volunteers.
