Medina Ice Festival This Weekend
An event every day that begins at 12:00 am, repeating until February 22, 2021
Celebrating its 27th year, the Medina Ice Festival, produced and run by Elegant Ice Creations, will showcase over 100 ice sculptures sponsored by local businesses, on view throughout the four-day festival. Sculptures will be installed on Friday, February 19th, and will remain on display through Monday, February 22nd. The event is free to attend, and there is free, public parking throughout the district. The event takes place rain or shine, and all carvings are left on view throughout the weekend. The Medina Ice Festival is the largest ice festival in Northeast Ohio.
Due to COVID-19, the festival is being scaled back for 2021, and will not include in-person carving contests or demonstrations, nor will it include the much-loved Fire & Ice Tower. Instead, the Medina Square will be transformed into an ice sculpture garden, with a self-guided tour of the carved creations. Guests may visit the event any time from 3 p.m. February 19th through 6 p.m., February 22nd. During the daytime, the ice sculptures will sparkle like cut glass. In the evening, they will be uplit by color-changing, LED lights, creating a 24/7 experience. Guests are reminded to wear masks and watch social distancing.
