Fourth of July Activities in Northeast Ohio

Find things to do with your family to celebrate Independence Day, whether it’s a parade, fireworks or a local festival. Check out these great events taking place throughout the holiday week and on July 4 in the greater Cleveland/Akron area.

 

July 3-4

July 3-7

July 4

Medina Community Band Concert. Enjoy a special Fourth of July performance from the Medina Community Band, under the baton of Marcus Neiman. 8:30-9:30 p.m. Uptown Park Gazebo, Medina Square, visitmedinacounty.com

Old Glory Days. Children’s parade, games, music, face painting, balloon animals and pie eating contest. 1-4 p.m. Chardon Square/gazebo, Short Court Street, chardonchamber.com

Cleveland POPS Concert & Fireworks. The concert will begin at 7:30 p.m. followed by a spectacular 25-minute fireworks display. The Mentor Civic Amphitheater/Civic Center Park, 8600 Munson Road, cityofmentor.com

Rock ‘n’ Boom. Enjoy Cleveland’s Fourth of July fireworks at the Great Lakes Science Center on the deck of the historic Steamship William G. Mather from 8-11 p.m. The Science Center’s Spark Kitchen will be open from 6-9 p.m., so guests can come down early for a bite to eat. Bring a chair or blanket to sit on on-board the ship. 4th of July Concert. Enjoy a free concert in the park before fireworks. 7-9:30 p.m. Lakewood Park Bandstand, 14532 Lake Ave., Lakewood, onelakewood.com

Independence Day Pool Party. Beat the afternoon heat by the pool with family and friends. Family activities, poolside DJ, and rocket car rides will be provided. 2-6 p.m. Thornton Park, 3301 Warrensville Center Road, Shaker Hts., shakeronline.com

Fun Before 4 on the Fourth. The Greater Cleveland Aquarium is open with free parking from 10 a..m.-4 p.m., and free entry for military and first responders with presentation of appropriate ID. There won’t be any fireworks, but the flashlight fish twinkle, the poison dart frogs offer a brilliant pop of color and you can look up for pretty spectacular view of sandtiger sharks gliding overhead. 2000 Sycamore St., Cleveland, greaterclevelandaquarium.com

July 5
