The Akron Area YMCA, with locations in Barberton, Cuyahoga Falls, Green, Wadsworth and Akron, is hosting the Y’s annual Healthy Kids Day on Sunday, May 1, from 1-3 p.m.
Celebrating its 30th anniversary in 2022, Healthy Kids Day is the Y’s national initiative to improve health and well-being for kids and families.
Families can visit an Akron Area Y branch near their home to experience the demonstrations and activities planned for sports, swimming, mental wellness, and just plain fun. The event is free and open to all children accompanied by an adult.
“Healthy Kids Day is a reminder to families that we can help ensure all children have access to what they need to reach their full potential, even during out-of-school time,” says Judi Christy, director of marketing and communication for the Akron Area YMCA.
