Classical Christian Academy is a mission of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, providing education for Kindergarten through grade 6. Over the next 2 years we will expand to serve students through grade 8. Classical Christian education differs from other forms of Christian education in that Christianity is the foundation for all learning and behaviors. Emphasis is placed on critical thinking, debate, oral presentation, and writing. Small class sizes with educated and experienced faculty, who are also parents, will provide a challenging and loving learning environment for your child to grow cognitively and spiritually.
At Classical Christian Academy all subjects are viewed in the context of Christianity. Emphasis is placed on critical thinking, debate, oral presentation, and exposition. Writing, reading, speaking, and logic are embraced in all aspects of learning. CCA shares with parents in their Biblical responsibility for educating their children.
God’s character is revealed in His Word and in every facet of creation. Therefore, all knowledge is interrelated and instructs us about God Himself. Our actions should encourage quality academic work and should maintain high standards of character and conduct. Our highest goal is to honor Christ by providing education that challenges students to live and think within a Christian worldview.
Education, when approached from the end goal is a formative enterprise—cultivating children to embrace, to embody, and to extend a vision of “the good life.” This good life is not high scores on standardized tests, a lucrative career, or college acceptance. Rather, the good life and aim of education is the cultivation of virtue and rightly ordered relationships. This formative work is done through great teachers and great content. Students and families are invited into the ongoing dialogue of the major minds in Western Civilization about the most influential ideas and stories, concerning God, man, meaning, and salvation.
Recent data have demonstrated that up to 70% of US children are not proficient in reading or math by grade 8. Families with children need new options to counteract this detrimental trend. Graduates of Classical Christian Academy are expected to be leaders among their peers, achieving success in vocational and avocational pursuits.
