Boo at the Akron Zoo is getting a refresh for its 38th year, now becoming Boo at the Zoo: Ultimate Fall Fest. The event runs Oct. 11 – 12, 18 – 19 and 25 – 26 from 11 a.m. – 7 p.m.
The zoo will be decorated in different themed areas, such as Halloween Town, Witch’s Lair and Autumn Adventure. There will be different fall fest activities, like potato toss, pumpkin bowling, character meet and greets and a monster show. The trick-or-treating tradition continues in the Enchanted Candy Trail. A special Oktoberfest area will be available for adults, 21 and older.
Guests of all ages are encouraged to dress in Halloween costumes, but adults are prohibited from covering their face with costume masks, mascot heads or face paint.
The Akron Zoo participates in the Teal Pumpkin Project, which provides non-food options for any guest with food allergies. Guests can request a Teal Pumpkin treat at each station.
Tickets are available at akronzoo.org/boo-at-the-zoo. Treater tickets range from $16 – $20 and non-member observers are $13 – $17. Akron Zoo member observers are free but do require a ticket. Infants under two years of age who do not wish to trick-or-treat are also free.
Zoothing Boo at the Zoo is on Saturday, Oct. 25 at 10 a.m. During this special time, guests with different abilities will be able to trick-or-treat and enjoy the activities without loud noises and crowds before the zoo opens for Boo at the Zoo general admission. Tickets are separate from general admission, and a limited number are available to help control crowd sizes. Zoothing Boo tickets are available at akronzoo.org/zoothing-boo-at-the-zoo.
