Titanic: The Artifact Exhibition Docking at the Great Lakes Science Center This Summer

This spring, Great Lakes Science Center will offer guests the opportunity to immerse themselves in the legendary Ship of Dreams. TITANIC: The Artifact Exhibition opens on May 21.

The Exhibition offers a powerful and emotional journey through one of history’s most iconic tragedies. Featuring over 200 authentic artifacts recovered from the wrecksite that tell the story of the Ship and her passengers and crew, life-size reconstructions of the Ship’s most famous rooms, and the most historically accurate Titanic VR experience ever, guests will be provided with a deeper understanding of the Ship and her legacy.

Great Lakes Science Center will be the exhibition premiere of the Titanic VR experience, produced in collaboration with Titanic: Honor & Glory, offering an unprecedented opportunity to be immersed in the Ship’s grandeur. This is the most detailed and complete VR tour of Titanic ever created, including areas of the Ship that weren’t previously visible to the public.

“This carefully curated set of real artifacts tells the story of Titanic from her construction, the human stories of her passengers and crew, and the trauma of her sinking and decades under the ocean,” says Tomasina Ray, president of RMS Titanic, Inc. and director of collections. “We’re excited to share not only the real artifacts, but the enhancement of the partnership with Titanic: Honor & Glory which allows visitors to experience the artifacts as they were in 1912—when they sank after only four days at sea.”

Titanic: The Artifact Exhibition also explores the contemporary effort to recover artifacts and conserve the site for scientific analysis and historical preservation ensuring future generations can learn from Titanic.

Tickets for the Exhibition are available on the Science Center’s website.
