‘Before You Go’ Checklist for the 2026 Transition Expo on Saturday, April 25

Starting at age 14, your child needs to start planning what the future might look like.  For resources to help their journey into adulthood, attend the 2026 Northeast Ohio Transition Expo on April 25 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., a free event, which will be held at the Independence Civic Center, 6363 Selig Blvd, Cleveland. For those looking to attend, here’s some resources to know before you go.

Who can attend?
The event supports transitionaged youth with disabilities and their families who want to connect with organizations that provide essential life skills training, employment, recreation, and independentliving resource. It welcomes individuals with disabilities, families and caregivers, students and professionals.

With more than 75 vendors expected at the Expo, here are the topics of interest:
Adaptive Sports; Advocacy: Skills Training, After School Programs;  Art: Programs, Therapy;  Career: Development, Planning, Counseling; College Experience; Community Connections;  Counseling Services; Day Programs for Adults; Direct Care Support; Employment Services; Financial Planning; Fitness; Group Homes; In-Home Care; Independent Living Support;  Jobs: Skill Training, Readiness, Assistance; Life Skills Training;  Music: Programs Therapy;  Recreation Therapy; Recreational Activities; Respite Care; Shared Living; Social Opportunities; Social Skills Group; Speech Therapy; Summer Camp Options; Supported Living;  TBS Services; Transition Services; Transportation; Tutoring; Vocational Training and Voting.

What activities should I know about?
This year’s Expo will feature On My Way, a panel discussion at 12 p.m. highlighting the lived experiences of youth and adults with disabilities as they navigate adulthood.

What will be the Transition Expo environment be like for attendees and their families?
The event can get loud and sometimes crowded, so plan accordingly. There will be a sensory friendly room off of the main room with calming activities available.

Will lunch be provided?
Boxed lunches provided to audience members (while supplies last).

Will there be a Universal Changing Table at the event?
Yes, there will is a permanent one at the family.
