As families across Northeast Ohio look for ways to support their children’s health and well-being, the Akron Area YMCA is inviting the community to attend Healthy Kids Day an afternoon designed to get kids moving, learning and enjoying time outdoors.
Sunday, May 3, from 1–4 p.m.
at Camp Y-Noah
815 Mount Pleasant Road, Green, OH 44216
This FREE, open-to-all event is designed especially for families with children ages 3–13 and offers a chance to explore, play, and connect.Event highlights include:
- Scavenger hunt through the beautiful Camp Y-Noah grounds
- Canoeing adventures on the water
- Archery and high ropes challenges for all skill levels
- Horse demonstration and petting zoo experience
- Make-n-take healthy snacks the whole family can enjoy
- Family fitness activities, including a high-energy BEATS class
- Plus games, activities, and surprises around every corner
- And, a fire circle with S’mores!
“With growing concerns around youth physical activity, screen time and overall wellness, Healthy Kids Day offers simple, accessible ways for families to build healthy habits,” said Judi Christy, Director of Marketing/Communication for the Akron Area YMCA. “The afternoon is about creating a space where families can come together, try something new, and discover simple ways to stay active and connected.”
Families are encouraged to bring a sense of adventure and their friends and neighbors—because everyone is welcome. Please note that all children, however, must be accompanied by an adult.
