Enjoy a free festival, a parade along Madison Avenue and surrounding streets, an awards ceremony for the best dressed dogs and their owners. This is a favorite autumn tradition for Northeast Ohio dog lovers. The festival provides a tail-wagging good time for canine and human guests alike.
Festivities begin at the Spooky Pooch Festival at 12:30 p.m. at Madison Park. Attendees can enjoy entertainment, kid pumpkin painting, and dog-related vendors and businesses. The costume contest parade will begin at 2 p.m. Dogs dressed in their best Halloween costumes will parade down Madison Avenue. Judges will then award the top three prizes per category at 3:15 p.m. The categories to compete for include: Best Pooch & Child, Best Pooch & Adult, Best Pooch & Group, Spookiest Pooch, and Best in Show.
Parade Route: The parade will line up to begin behind the baseball diamond near the judges’ tent, and will exit Madison Park to Athens Avenue, by turning right onto Clarence Avenue, then turn right onto Madison Avenue, then turn right onto Halstead Avenue, and lastly turn right onto Athens Avenue again and come back into the park.
