Based on the documentary, this heartfelt musical follows a group of teens with autism as they prepare for a dance while navigating friendships, family, first love and independence. Beck Center’s regional premiere runs Dec. 4–Jan. 3 in the Senney Theater. Added performances include 2:30 p.m. matinees on Saturdays, Dec. 5, 12 and Jan. 2; 7:30 p.m. shows on Thursdays, Dec. 10 and 17; 2:30 and 7:30 p.m. shows on Saturday, Dec. 19 and Sunday, Dec. 27.
The show is listed as sold out. It includes loud music, bright and flashing lights, and themes of anxiety and social stress. A limited number of sound-limiting headphones can be borrowed from customer service. Visit beckcenter.org for details.
