The Haunted Treat Trail
Saturday, Oct. 18, 7:00-9:30 p.m.
Last year you heard the tales from the trail, now this year it is time to walk the trail. Meet at the Picnic Pavilion near the playground where you will board a hayride to the entrance of the woods. One of the many creatures who lives near the trail will greet you as you walk through our haunted path. There will be plenty of treat stops along the way. Wear your favorite costume and you just might scare the creatures back into the woods. Don’t be left in the dark. Register early! Trail is appropriate for young children.

2nd Annual Scarecrow Contest
Build it and they will come, and probably be scared! Families, companies, and small groups are invited to purchase a scarecrow pack and create your own scarecrow. Completed scarecrows will be returned to the Recreation center for public viewing along the scarecrow trail. Participants will pick up their packs on Saturday October 4th from 9:00am-Noon at the Recreation Center. All Scarecrows must be assembled and returned to the Rec Center by Thursday October 16th. A full description will be handed out at time of registration. Deadline to register is Wednesday October 1st. Cost is $20 per scarecrow pact which includes: premeasured wood and hay.
Fall Festival & Pumpkin Hunt
Saturday, Oct 11 from 1- 4 p.m.
Join for this fun filled family festival for kids ages 9 and younger with a pumpkin hunt, face painters, hay rides, refreshments, inflatables, and much more. Parents must be present during the event. Event is free and open to the public on the Westlake Recreation Center grounds. Pumpkin Hunt will begin promptly at 1:30pm. Pre-registration is required for ONLY the pumpkin hunt by Friday, Oct. 10th by 5:00pm or when maximum is reached (whichever comes first).
