Cross-country skiing is permitted at 23 parks located in the district, with a groomed surface along the Maple Highlands Trail between Mountain Run Station and Claridon Troy Road.
Sledding is recommended at Beartown Lakes Reservation and Orchard Hills Park (which offers after-dark sledding).
Snowshoeing permitted at all parks. Snowshoe borrowing available at West Woods Nature Center (9465 Kinsman Road, Russell Twp.).
There are more than 70 miles of trails suitable for hiking year-round across scenic Geauga County.
