Nature Quest Camp
Campers will get in touch with their wild side and foster their adventurous spirit at this nature-based day camp. Activities include nature hikes, climbing the Emergent Tower and Canopy Walk, art projects, field games and so much more. A daily snack is provided.

DATES: Week 1: Children entering grades 1-2: July 9-13
Week 2: Children entering grades 3-5: July 23 -27
TIME:  9 a.m. – 3 p.m.
LOCATION: Holden Arboretum
INSTRUCTOR: Education staff
COST:  $130 per child member, $160 per child nonmember
AGES: Session 1: Children entering first and second grades
Session 2: Children entering third through fifth grades

 

Working With Nature
Did you know that you can make a career out of climbing trees, protecting wildlife, or creating beautiful gardens? Professionals in the fields of conservation, research, horticulture and forestry will give campers a first-hand look at what it takes to forge a future in the world of natural science. Activities include conservation field work, demonstrations in the research lab, and harnessed tree climbing.

DATES: Monday – Friday, July 16 – 20
TIME:  9 a.m. – 3 p.m.
LOCATION: Holden Arboretum
INSTRUCTOR: Education staff
COST:  $150 per child member, $180 per child nonmember
AGES: Children entering 6th through 9th grades

 

The Arboretum Experience Camp
This brand new summer camp allows campers to experience all that the Holden Arboretum has to offer. Each day, a different area of our 3,600 acres will be explored. Excursions include a Stebbins Gulch creek hike, Old Valley rugged hike, and more. Games, nature activities and educational experiences will punctuate the day to help campers forge deeper connections to the natural world.

DATES: Monday – Friday, July 25-29
TIME:  9 a.m. – 3 p.m.
LOCATION: Holden Arboretum
INSTRUCTOR: Education staff
COST:  $150 per child member, $180 per child nonmember
AGES: Children entering 5th through 7th grades

Overnight Adventure
The Holden Arboretum and Red Oak Camp are teaming up to offer fun-filled outdoor recreation and nature programming sure to actively engage your preteen in the great outdoors. This three-day experience provides ample opportunity for canoeing, swimming and rock climbing along with challenges such as ropes course and flying through the air on a zipline. Discover the wonders of nature on the Arboretum’s Murch Canopy Walk and Kalberer Emergent Tower, hike through Stebbins Gulch and explore Pierson’s Creek. No camp experience would be complete without night hikes and s’mores around the campfire.

DATES: Wednesday – Friday, Aug. 8 – 10
TIME:  8 a.m. Wednesday – 4 p.m. Friday
LOCATION: Holden Arboretum and Red Oak Camp
INSTRUCTOR: Red Oak Camp and Education staff
COST:  $210 per child member; $230 per child nonmember
AGES: 10 – 13 years old

*fees include all meals, cabin lodging and programming

Garden Discovery Camp
Campers will enjoy stories, scavenger hunts, crafts and games during this hands-on, nature-based day camp. Each activity has a botanical twist that is designed to foster an appreciation for the beautiful, diverse, and sometimes strange world of plants. Daily snack is provided. Both sessions of camp are identical.

Session 2: June 18 – 22

LOCATION: Cleveland Botanical Garden
INSTRUCTOR: Education staff
