Free Family-Friendly Fun at Sap’s-a-Risin’!

Geauga Park District invites you to participate in its Sap’s-a-Risin’! event, which is designed for all ages and offers hands-on interaction with the process of making maple syrup.

Visitors will have the opportunity to:

  • Gather sap in the sugar bush with a horse-drawn sap sled at 1, 2 and 3 p.m. (Partially wheelchair/stroller accessible.)
  • Meet costumed interpreters
  • Try tapping tools
  • Experience gathering and boiling methods through the ages
  • Visit the operating sugar house
  • Enjoy a sample of the sweet stuff
  • Warm up in the lodge with a toasty fireplace, live music and free maple treats.


When: Sundays March 4, 11 and 18, noon to 4 p.m.
Where: Geauga Park District’s Swine Creek Reservation, 16004 Hayes Road, Middlefield, OH 44062
