Mini Majorettes
Students ages 7-12 will learn baton terminology and basic twirling skills while developing hand-eye coordination. The class will focus on twirls, rolls and tosses using proper form and technique. Please bring a baton and water bottle. No class Sept 16. Classes are located on the MCRC Racquetball Court. Children ages 9-17 with special needs can enjoy a fun and interactive theatre class full of games, movement-based storytelling, improvisation, and role-playing to build confidence, and encourage social connection in an inclusive and welcoming environment. Participants work on teamwork, communication, self-awareness, and decision-making while also exploring self-expression and imagination. Young artists explore the basics of working on the pottery wheel and learn essential techniques such as centering, shaping, and trimming. Students will experiment with combining forms to craft designs and be instructed in using underglazes to add color, patterns, and personal flair to pieces of art. A fun, hands-on evening of learning how to make pizza and chocolate chip cookies from scratch. Families will learn from Chef Dana how to mix and shape fresh pizza dough and make homemade sauce. Feel free to take home the recipes after class. Adults and children age 8+. $20/per person Registration ends 10/24 and is limited to 16 guests. 6-8 p.m.
