Safetyville is sponsored by the Police Department and will educate children on various safety topics. Children learn about traffic, school buses, stranger danger, 911, and fire safety. Children entering kindergarten receive lessons inside a classroom and then practice these lessons outside within a realistic miniature village. Learn grounding skills through expressive arts, gain self-awareness, develop coping skills, and learn how to navigate challenges. Classes are facilitated by a licensed therapist. Participants will experience connection to self and others while exploring shared feelings, events, and circumstances. Children faced with challenges, including anxiety, inattention, hyperactivity, impulsivity, emotional dysregulation, and/or difficulty connecting with others, will benefit from this group.
