Olympic Day at the Mentor Ice Arena with Nancy Kerrigan

The Mentor Ice Arena, located at 8600 Munson Road, will host an Olympic Day celebration on Sunday, Feb. 6 with special guest, Nancy Kerrigan.

“I am really looking forward to coming to Mentor for their Olympic Day,”  Kerrigan said. “Mentor has a first-class facility and a great skating program which is a perfect combination for a fun afternoon on the ice.”

Kerrigan won bronze medals at the 1991 World Championships and the 1992 Winter Olympics, silver medals at the 1992 World Championships and the 1994 Winter Olympics. She was the 1993 US National Figure Skating Champion and was inducted into the United States Figure Skating Hall of Fame in 2004.

 Attendees can share the ice with the Olympic star from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. during a private skate session and enjoy intermittent performances from local figure skaters. Registration is required and space is limited to 300 people.  Cost for the skate session is $15 per person. Skate rental included for those who wish to skate.

A special meet-and-greet session will be held from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. Attendees can get a photo and autograph from Kerrigan. Light refreshments will be served. Separate registration is required, and space is limited to 100 attendees. Cost is $30 per person.
