The Cleveland Monsters will be taking hockey to the streets through the Monsters’ new “Grow the Game” community initiative. Partnering with Jacobs Entertainment and the Nautica Entertainment Complex, The Monsters will host free street hockey clinics for children in Northeast Ohio to introduce them to the sport of hockey.
Each clinic session will include professional hockey instruction of the fundamentals of shooting, passing and stick handling and will conclude with a simulated game. Instruction will be led by Cleveland Monsters Hockey staff members and former Monsters Player and Ohio Hockey Project Owner Russ Sinkewich. Children ages 5-14 are welcome to participate.
All registered participants will receive a Monsters ‘Grow the Game’ t-shirt and all equipment needed will be made available free of charge. Courtesy of Nautica, all participants will also receive a complimentary ticket to the Greater Cleveland Aquarium and complimentary ticket for the Nautica Queen.
Clinic time slots and space are limited and will be filled on a first come, first served basis; pre-registration is highly encouraged.
In addition to the clinics, attendees can look forward to festival activities and fun, featuring appearances from the Monsters Entertainment teams including Sully and Monster Hockey Girls, as well as music, face painting and games. A special box lunch including grilled hotdog, chips, drink and piece of fruit will be available for $5 for all attendees.
