You know the places you love to take your kids for play dates? Well, have you ever thought about checking them out for an adult play date? Many museums and cultural centers around town offer ways to explore and enjoy that reach beyond your kids.
Think & Drink with the Extinct
The Cleveland Museum of Natural History offers a monthly happy hour event with beer and wine, interactive demonstrations, and a chance to chat with Museum staff and researchers. A different science topic is highlighted each month.
Think & Drink happens from 5-9pm on the third Wednesday of each month from September through May. The event is included with general admission to the Museum, which is $8 after 5pm on Wednesdays. The next Think & Drink is on Wednesday, September 20 on the topic Creatures of Light: Bioluminescence and features libations from Butcher & the Brewer and Cleveland Whiskey.
Adult Swim
After hours fun awaits at the Greater Cleveland Aquarium‘s Adult Swim. You can enjoy beer tastings, small bites, and the chance to mix and mingle among sharks, stingrays, and more.
Tickets are $40 for general admission and $30 for Aquarium members. Your ticket includes 20 tasting tickets for drinks, a souvenir glass, light hors d’oeuvres, and full Aquarium access. The next Adult Swim is on Friday, September 8 from 7-10pm and features 30 types of Autumn Brews, plus food from Brewnuts and Dank Diners.
MIX at CMA
Get your fill of art and culture on the first Friday of every month at MIX at CMA. The Cleveland Museum of Art hosts a different themed event each month, focusing on special exhibitions and new art pieces at the Museum.
Tickets are $10 in advance, $15 the night of the event, and free for CMA members. MIX: Interact happens Friday, September 8 from 6-10pm and celebrates the new interactive ARTLENS Gallery.
Cleveland Zoological Society Events
Enjoy the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo and help benefit the Cleveland Zoological Society at one of their many adults-only events. Stay tuned next summer for Twilight at the Zoo, Date Night at the Zoovies, and Zoo Clues and Brews for unique ways to encounter animals and have a wild time!
