Akron Zoo Scavenger Hunt

Akron Zoo Scavenger Hunt

- in Things to do

Summer is in finally in full swing. Are your kids bored yet? Are you running out of ideas for things to do? Summer is the perfect time to get out and enjoy the zoo!

We are members of the Akron Zoo and visit at least a couple times a month. We think that it’s a beautiful zoo and enjoy the exhibits. My kids have their favorite animals that they love to say hi to each time. My oldest son cannot visit the Akron zoo without seeing the red panda and my younger son must say hello to the red wolves.

To spice things up I came up with a fun Akron Zoo Scavenger Hunt. This scavenger hunt has a checklist of animals that kids can look for at the Akron Zoo. The animals are listed by the area of the zoo in which they are located so that kids know where to look.

My kids love a good scavenger hunt and they were excited to do one at the zoo. I put the scavenger hunt checklist on a clipboard and attach a writing utensil with a string so that we didn’t lose it on the way. If the kids get tired of carrying them around or finish with the hunt then I just throw the clipboards into my backpack.

One thing to note… currently the Farmland section of the zoo is being redone. You should still be able to find the goats, but they are currently in a different area. The Farmland animals have been moved to the barn between the Prairie section and the Zoo Gardens.
