Hi! I’m Katie – mom of 3boys, freelance graphic designer, blogger, avid thrifter, and flea market vendor. My blog, SomethingtobeFound.com is where I share my thrifty finds, DIY crafts, and home decorating projects.

I’m excited to be a partner blogger for NortheastOhioParent.com and to write about my parenting experiences with three boys: a newborn, a pre-schooler, and a kindergartener. I’ll also share DIY projects and thrifting tips/tricks for kids.

And, if you’d like to get to know me a little better, here are six random bits of info:

  1. I am 33. I’ve been married to my husband Dan for nine years and we live on Cleveland’s east side. I went to Solon High School and The Ohio State University and he went to Walsh Jesuit and St. Louis University.
  2.   I always remember a face! I am constantly pointing to people and saying “I know them from somewhere…” I’ve been known to ask a complete stranger 20 questions until I figure out where I know them from.  I did it one time to a girl at the grocery store. Despite the questioning I couldn’t figure out how I knew her (she was being so humble), until I got home and realized she was a local celebrity. LOL!!  I also have a talent for determining people’s doppelgangers. I even started a feature on my blog called Twinsie Tuesdays.
  3. I do not like to cook. And when I do cook, I prefer it to be something in the crock pot with less than 5 ingredients. Thankfully my husband and kids do not have sophisticated pallets and are fine with the basics!
  4. My favorite thing to do is shop at garage sales, estate sales and thrift stores. A majority of our house is decorated with secondhand finds, and nearly all of my kids clothes are thrifted or hand-me-downs.
  5.  I love desserts.  I rarely pass up the opportunity to order from the dessert menu at a restaurant, even after I’ve just gotten done complaining about how full I am from the meal.
  6. My boys LOVE sports! We wanted to get them a basketball hoop in time for summer but figured we should make them work for it a bit. Back in March we made a chore chart and asked my oldest how many check marks he thought would be deserving of the hoop. We expected him to say maybe twenty. NOPE! Sixty-two!!! So, five months later we finally have a basketball hoop!
