Happy Mother’s Day! I hope all you moms are enjoying a wonderful day with your family! Mother’s Day is a great chance to not only celebrate your family (and have them celebrate you), but it’s also to celebrate the mom friends who make this crazy parenting adventure easier and more fun. Sometimes there’s nothing more rejuvenating than some time with other ladies who understand, laugh, cry, and support you!
So, here are some fun and fabulous ways to have a Girls Night Out or In with your fellow mommas:
Wine Down
There are lots of wonderful wineries in Northeast Ohio that make the perfect destination for some girl time on the town.
You can enjoy a glass or two of wine, some meat and cheese, and kick back with your gal pals. Two of my favorite wineries are Ferrante Winery and South River Vineyard for great wines and perfect patios.
If staying in is more your style, head to your favorite specialty shop for some yummy nibbles and have your friends each bring a favorite bottle to try each other’s go-to sippers.
Get Crafty
Wine and paint events have become so popular lately. They make for a great girls night out activity, where you can not only relax with your friends, but also show your creative side.
Pinot’s Palette, with locations in Olmsted Falls and Woodmere, is a great choice for wine and paint, with a studio especially designed for these classes, lots of trained instructors, and of course, a full service bar!
Laugh About It
Parenting can hand us lots of fun, but lots of stress, too. And nothing relieves stress like laughter! Check out a comedy show at Hilarities 4th Street Theatre, with dinner at Pickwick & Frolic beforehand.
Or rent “Bad Moms,” pop some popcorn, and invite your friends over for some big laughs at home!
Sweat It Out
Next to laughter, there’s nothing to refresh your spirit and recharge your battery like working out. Sign up for a yoga class with your gal pals. There are a lot of options now that expand the yoga experience beyond just practice to include a beer, a glass of wine, or brunch after class or simply taking you to a cool new location.
Retail Therapy
Is there anything more classic for time with your girlfriends than shopping? It’s not even about buying things, it’s about the time you spend together, relaxing and looking at pretty things.
The Cleveland Flea makes for a super fun experience or you can even book a mobile fashion boutique like The Wandering Wardrobe or The Style Foundry to come right to you for a shopping party!
Pamper Yourself
Spa time with girlfriends can be a great way to relax, but be sure to find a spot that will allow you the chance to hang out and chat together, too.
Spa West or Spa Walden are great options to not only have a chance to unwind and freshen your own look, but have a chance to spend quiet time with your gal pals too.
Brunch So Hard
My girlfriends and I have found brunch to be one of the best times to sneak off for some girl time. We’re not too tired (which often happens with happy hours or dinners) and we still get a lot of good family time in after the brunch is over.
There are so many fabulous places to brunch in Cleveland, but The The Flying Fig, Fahrenheit, and Luxe Kitchen and Lounge are three top choices for me, with delicious food, great mimosas, and the perfect environment for a girls Sunday Funday.
However you celebrate your gal pals around this Mother’s Day, remember to take time to thank them for being along on this parenting journey with you and to take time for all of you to relax and recharge together.
From Cleveland that I love,
Jen
