Hi! I’m Jen, also known in the social media world as Why CLE. I’m so excited to be the newest addition to the Northeast Ohio Parent blogging team!
I’ve been getting great tips from Northeast Ohio Parent for awhile, so to be able to be a part of the group and share some tips with all of you is going to be a lot of fun!
I’m a born-and-raised Cleveland girl, who moved away and then back to my hometown not once, but twice. Everywhere else I’ve lived has given me a true appreciation for the wonderful people, food, culture, seasons, sports, cost of living, and more that make up Cleveland.
My beat is writing about what I do out and about in Cleveland, as a mom, as a wife, as a friend. I’ll focus on experiences: great places to go, pro tips for once you get there, and ways to do good in your community.
I’m passionate about all things local, so if you know of a cool new business or charitable organization, please feel free to give me the heads up, too!

My son Jeffrey, who is almost three and is filled with life and fun and spunk.
He already has his mom’s passion for exploring Cleveland!
My husband, Matthew, who is a wonderful partner and always up for whatever crazy adventure I’m undertaking!
My parents and friends, who are a huge part of my support and laughter and enjoyment of the city!
