The Texture Project/Week 1: Rocky River Reservation & A Women’s Circle

- in Uncategorized

Week 1 of the 2026 Texture Project.

Here are two adventures that may add texture to your life too!

Experience #1: Rocky River Reservation (Cleveland Metroparks)
Location: Rocky River Reservation is located in Berea, Brook Park, Cleveland, Fairview Park, Lakewood, North Olmsted, Olmsted Township, and Rocky River. The Nature Center (my visit!) is located at 24000 Valley Parkway in North Olmsted.

Why it added texture: A beautiful nature center, very kid-friendly, with areas for imaginative play, exploring, live animal exhibits, and wonderful spaces for reading, playing checkers (provided), and viewing the wildlife outdoors.

Who it’s good for: Everyone! Families, adults, together or exploring solo. The nature center was a wonderful introduction to this beautiful area.

Takeaway tip: Visit in all seasons! It was breathtaking and worth a trip on a cold, snowy Cleveland winter day, but the Center and the surrounding area look to have amazing explorations that can be enjoyed year-round.

Experience #1: Women’s Circle (Harmony Studios)
Location: Harmony Studios is a yoga studio located at 38108 3rd St. in Willoughby. Harmony Studios offers a variety of yoga classes for all levels.

Why it added texture: This was my second time attending a Women’s Circle. What is it? I was curious too! A Women’s Circle provides a supportive, nonjudgmental space for women to connect, share, and reflect. My experience this week was enhanced by the fact that my 18-year-old daughter agreed to join me (she was the youngest one in the room but did agree the experience provided her with additional insight and strategies for managing stress).

Who it’s good for: Adult women. Walking in, I did not know many in the room but left feeling more connected and supported. If you are looking for a quiet, reflective, supportive space, I definitely recommend you check out a Women’s Circle!

Takeaway tip: If you are seeking more community (I am) and connection (me too!), a Women’s Circle is a wonderful way to share experiences and reflections with other women.

A reminder: Life is to be designed with moments. Don’t forget to schedule your JOY, too!
What texture are you adding to your life this week?
