Mirabel is the Akron Zoo’s newest animal ambassador, which means she will go out on programs to schools, libraries and other community locations.
When the one-year-old prehensile-tailed porcupine moved to the Akron Zoo, she began training in order to prepare her for these programs. This meant that Mirabel had to get used to the travel kennel she would use to go to and from programs, learn to be comfortable in front of crowds, and more.
Learn more about her training and see how she’s doing in this video that features Mirabel and the zoo’s Animal Ambassador Keeper, Jenn.
