The Akron Civic Theatre will present Akron General’s Jazz @ The Civic featuring J.A.M.- J.ust A.bout M.usic on Saturday, August 20, 2014 at 8 p.m. in an intimate cabaret setting.
For over a decade, J.A.M. – J.ust A.bout M.usic has performed throughout Ohio, performing at nearly a thousand events and weekly engagements at many of the area’s finest jazz clubs, restaurants, bars, festivals, country clubs, hotels and private events.
They have played in a variety of musical contexts including smooth, contemporary and straight-ahead jazz, R&B, dance, neo-soul, Motown, gospel, pop, disco, funk, blues, swing and reggae.
The group now features Matthew Horwich on saxophones, Alphonso McDuffie on keyboards, Robert Cunningham on guitar, Clarence Smith on bass and John Turner on drums.
