Homeschoolers and families can attend the Homeschool Days: Family Learning Fair on Friday, Aug. 26 at The West Woods, to participate in fun activities and gather information from Geauga County organizations that offer educational opportunities for homeschool students.
All attending must be signed up in advance, including adults and siblings, to drop in anytime during one of two sessions: either 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. or 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. Please allow your family an hour or more to spend at the park participating.
Upon check-in, each student will get a “Learning Fair Passport” to check off all the participating organizations he or she visits. Completed passports earn a raffle ticket to win cool prizes. Among the local organizations and businesses offering hands-on activities and information will be:
- University Hospitals – Prize wheel and hands-only CPR demonstrations
- Women United United Way – book giveaway
- Geauga Park District – explore a meadow with a naturalist (nets provided)
