Jacqui Spetrino, an art teacher from Mentor School District, just received some notable recognition.
In a contest put on by Major League Baseball, Target and People magazine, nominees, such as Spetrino, were recognized for the difference they make in the lives of their students. Each of the 30 nominees serves as a representative for an MLB team and Spetrino has the honor of being the representative for the Cleveland Indians in this year’s All-Star Game at Target Field in Minnesota.
The description of Spetrino on the MLB website explains, “Jacqui is a single mother of two that struggled through college working full time to raise her children and pay for school. She is a strong advocate for children, and she passes her love of art to every child she teaches.”

The All-Star Game will air on FOX on July 15 at 7:30 p.m. ET/4:30 p.m.PST.
