Wild Ohio Talk & Hike With Geauga Park District

Wild OhioFrom southern haunts bordering the Ohio River to lakeshore habitats buffering Lake Erie, Ohio is filled with wild landscapes.

Join Jim McCormac of the Ohio Division of Wildlife on Saturday, July 26, for an illustrated presentation in the early afternoon, a hike in the late afternoon, or both.

From 1 to 2 p.m. is the photographic journey to Ohio’s best remaining places at The West Woods Nature Center; from 3 to 5 p.m. is the exclusive hike through Burton Wetlands Nature Preserve to examine some of the creatures and plants that make this area so special, or both the talk and the hike. Please register for the hike at geaugaparkdistrict.org or 440-286-9516.

McCormac is author of “Wild Ohio: The Best of our Natural Heritage,” a 2009 book with imagery by Gary Meszaros, and the recipient of the 2010 Ohioana Book Award for books about Ohio.
