Explore the origins of astronomy, discover how ancient civilizations studied the night sky through hands-on activities, celestial exploration and more.
Highlights include:
- Telescope viewing with members of the Chagrin Valley Astronomical Society
- Guided night hikes
- Live astronomical demonstrations
- A journey through the stars in the StarLab Portable Planetarium
- Space-themed activities and crafts
- Animal encounters with ambassadors from the Kevin P. Clinton Wildlife Center
- Interactive activities and photo opportunities
- Special merchandise available for purchase in the Nature Store
Miniature train rides will be available, weather permitting. For their safety, pregnant women are not permitted to ride, and children may not sit on adult laps.
“Ancient civilizations used the night sky to tell stories, track seasons and better understand the world around them,” says Nature Center Facility Manager Kristin Snider. “We’re excited to bring that history to life through hands-on activities and memorable experiences for all ages.”
Registration required. Tickets are $8 and include access to all activities. Children under 2 are free.
