Campfire Open House
Toast marshmallows over a fire and enjoy some delicious s’mores. Try feeding the chickadees and walk the trail for a self-guided game of Eye Spy. Afterward, stop inside the nature center for a hot chocolate bar, warm up and create a simple winter craft. Depending on the weather, snowshoes may be available for loan. 12-3 p.m.

Kids can experience age-appropriate special topics and activities about farming and homesteading. Parents do not need to be participating in the Homestead Conference to register. Children will be accompanied by staff to different areas of the Farmpark for activities. Learn about animal care and keeping, making ice cream, making a craft with sheep’s wool, gardening, beekeeping and more. Send children dressed each day for the weather and with sturdy shoes or boots. Come and learn if bobcats live in Medina County and where they got their name at this free special event. The morning will begin inside for learning. Then, the group will go outside for a hike. No live animals will be at this program. Ages 7 and up recommend. 10-11:30 a.m.

The seeds are missing and there are many potential suspects. The world’s most absentminded squirrel detective, Squirrelock Holmes, and her brother are on the case. They investigate the disappearance of sunflower seeds from the neighborhood bird feeder and interview a hilarious array of suspects, including a dreamer tortoise, joke-loving crow, and a selfie-obsessed mole. They discover that solving a mystery also requires learning why things happen. 2:30 p.m.

Adapted Farm Fun
Guests with disabilities will experience milking a cow, grooming a horse, leading a sheep and meeting chickens up close. All animal lovers will have a blast. Each participant must be accompanied by an adult. The cost per individual is $20. 10-11:30 a.m.
