Akron STEM Students Urge Kindness, Safety with New Video

The nationwide school walkout on March 14, 2018 was both a memorial and protest. The students of the National Inventors Hall of Fame STEM Middle School wanted to do something extra to help — create a public service message to support the national walkout and memorial to the victims of violence at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Fla.

They put together a video to encourage students everywhere to speak up when they see something that doesn’t seem right. They urge fellow students to “be kind, be respectful, be safe and be YOU.”

Coach Sheneeka Rodgers and her students came up with the concept. Rodgers wrote the script, while Ryan Rittenhouse recorded the video in the NIHF-STEM Middle School.
