Personal hygiene is a must if you plan to be around other people, but more than that, it’s vital for you to stay on top of your personal hygiene for your own wellbeing and confidence. Your personal hygiene routine is the most effective way to avoid contracting any illnesses, infections or colds. You want to avoid any illness in any and every weather, and one of the best ways to do it is with the right routines.
You may already be on top of the ear cleaning tips everyone should know, but do you know how to effectively wash your hands? Do you know how to keep up with a cleaning routine with your hands that keeps your hands AND nails clean? Ideally, since COVID, you know how to do these things but if you don’t then it’s time to get back on top of it again. Keeping your body clean should be a priority for you and here’s how you can do it.
- Start in the shower. Taking a daily bath or shower is a must and you should ensure that you wash well. The smaller cracks and crevices of your body should have particular attention paid to them. You don’t want to end up with a build up of fungus and cleaning every day can do this. Use a body wash or soap without scent where possible and try not to use too many perfumes. They don’t eliminate a bad smell; they just cover it!
- Wash your hands. Before and after meals, after the bathroom and whenever you’re cooking should be the times you mostly wash your hands. This could lead to you doing it several times but it’s a must! You need to use enough soap to thoroughly cover the surfaces of your hands and fingers and you need to clean between your fingers and beneath your nails with a nail brush. Use a towel specific for your hands afterwards to dry them thoroughly.
- Prevent Body odor. It’s not easy to do this if you are under stress, have a condition that causes excess sweat or you are forgetful with deodorant. You should pay attention to the areas that sweat and therefore smell the most. You should clean and thoroughly dry these areas so that you prevent too much sweat and body odor occuring.
- Handle food like a boss. Safe food handling is a must to prevent you from spreading bacteria. You don’t want to touch raw meat and then touch your face, and so in addition to handwashing it’s important to stay on top of your handling of food, too. Cross contamination can be a big issue!
- Preventing bad breath. Body cleaning includes your teeth and that means preventing bad breath. See a hygienist for your gums to be regularly cleaned and looked after, and brush your teeth twice a day. Pay attention to what you’re eating, too, and brush your teeth after drinking teeth staining foods like chocolate or coffee.
