Join the Up Side of Downs for the third annual Cleveland Down Syndrome Day and celebrate loved ones with Down syndrome.
The celebration, which will take place Wednesday, Oct. 12 from 6-9 p.m., includes a reception with refreshments, honoree presentation, a screening of the film “Where Hope Grows,” and Mitchell’s ice cream for dessert after the show.
All activities and refreshments are free, but registration is required. Register by Oct. 10 by clicking here.
Honored at this year’s event will be Carl Tyler Jr., MD, who has worked for 20 years with a focus on improving the health and healthcare of persons with developmental disabilities through clinical care, research, education and training.
“Where Hope Grows” is a story about former professional baseball player Calvin Campbell, who is sent to an early retirement due to his panic attacks at the plate. His life is in a slow downward spiral when it is suddenly awakened and invigorated by the most unlikely person: Produce, a young man with Down syndrome who works at the local grocery store.
