Teen Tech Week is March 6-12

Teen Tech Week is when libraries make the time to showcase all of the great digital resources and services that are available to help teens succeed in school and prepare for college and 21st century careers, according to Young Adults Library Services Association.

This is an annual week where teens are encourage to come to the library to engage in a variety of STEAM, (Science Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math) activities.

Here are some activities happening around your local libraries:

At the Hudson Library, “Tech Fest 2016” will be held from 1-4 p.m. Teens can come experience technology gadgets like 3D printer, virtual reality headset, and 3D pen. They can also learn to code, play with interactive circuits kids, Lego Windstorms and Wii sports games. See here for info and other events.

Medina Library branches is having their week, which includes “Paper Circuits” at the Medina Library, which students can use LED lights and conductive copper tape for artistic, shiny creations. See here for info and more events.

Cuyahoga Library’s Middleburg Heights branch is having “Teen Tech Time — Create It @ Your Library on Wednesday March 9. See here for info and more events.

The Lorain Public Library is having a Teen Coding Workshop on Wednesday, March 9 at the Avon Branch Library. This free event provides opportunities to write code and develop skills. See here for info and more events.
