6th Annual Cornhole Tournament in Akron

On Saturday, August 1, from 8:30 a.m. – 2 p.m., at Canal Park – Home of the Akron RubberDucks will be the 6th Annual Cornhole Tournament, hosted by co-founders Scott and Jaime Kolligian. This event started in their backyard six years ago and has grown into a popular summertime Akron event, benefiting the Akron Rotary Camp for Children with Special Needs.

This event includes friendly cornhole competition, $1 beers, pop-a-shot, dunk tank and more, Everyone can come and watch the competition.  Visit rotarycamp.org/cornhole to register a team, become a sponsor, or to make a donation. Team registration includes entry into the tournament, lunch vouchers, a non-alcoholic beverage and a tournament t-shirt (limited supply available). Concession stands will also be available for additional food purchases.

“We’re so excited to be hosting this event again at Canal Park to benefit so many campers and families of the Akron Rotary Camp” said Jaime Kolligian, local Akron attorney and tournament co-founder.  “It is very humbling to hear stories from campers and the significant impact that proceeds from this event will have on their camp experiences.”

Participation in the 6th Annual Cornhole Tournament will help more than 1,700 children and adults with disabilities who attend the Akron Rotary Camp each year. While at camp, campers get the opportunity to participate in a variety of programs and activities where they learn important life skills and are able to enjoy themselves and play along with others. The Akron Rotary Camp is committed to offering financial assistance to those who qualify, in order to provide campers and their families with quality programs and the support they need. In 2014, the camp provided over $157,000 in direct financial assistance to campers and their families.
