The Akron Zoo is offering Community Appreciation Days where residents of Summit County can receive free admission as a thank you for their continued support.
Each community has a time period where residents can reserve up to four free tickets. The Akron Zoo is currently requiring time ticketing due to COVID-19, so Community Day tickets must be reserved online at akronzoo.org. Tickets are available to reserve two weeks prior to the start of each community’s visiting dates. Community dates are:
- Aug. 15-28: City of Akron
- Aug. 29 – Sept. 11: Cuyahoga Falls, Reminderville, Richfield Township, Richfield Village, Silver Lake, Stow, City of Twinsburg and Twinsburg Township
- Sept. 12-25: Boston Heights Village, Boston Township, Hudson, Macedonia, Munroe Falls, Northfield Center, Northfield Village, Peninsula and Sagamore Hills
- Sept. 26-Oct. 9: Barberton, Bath, Clinton, Copley, Coventry, Fairlawn, Green, Lakemore, Mogadore, New Franklin, Norton, Springfield and Tallmadge
The Akron Zoo has offered Community Appreciation Days since 2001 after the first Summit County-supported zoo levy passed.
Current Akron Zoo hours are 11 a.m.-4 p.m. and admission is $8 per person. Children younger than 2 are free and parking is $3. Tickets must be purchased online in advance. For more information, visit akronzoo.org or call 330-375-2550.
