Did you know Ohio was home to seven presidents? In honor of Presidents Day on Monday, February 20, here’s a few fun places you can visit to keep the kids entertained on their day off from school — and learn something new in the process!
Presidents Day Celebration at the James A. Garfield Museum. “Meet” George Washington, Abraham and Mary Lincoln, Theodore and Edith Roosevelt, and Lucretia and Mollie Garfield. The day will also include children’s crafts and activities, open-house tours of the Garfield home, and a trivia game at noon and 1:30 featuring the presidents, first ladies, and first-daughter. 11 a.m. – 3 p.m., James A. Visit the William McKinley Presidential Library and Museum. In honor of Presidents Day, the museum will be open to the public. Presidents Day at the Rutherford B. Hayes Museum. Celebrate Presidents’ Day with free admission and activities at America’s first presidential library. Visitors can take a free, self-guided tour of the museum, enjoy presidential trivia, story time, a scavenger hunt and more! 9 a.m. – 5 p.m., Rutherford B. Visit the Akron Zoo. The Akron Zoo is offering free admission for all guests on Presidents’ Day. The Summit County Historical Society will also be on-site with activities and information for guests to enjoy. 11 a.m. – 4 p.m., Akron Zoo, 500 Edgewood Ave., Akron, www.akronzoo.org
