The Cleveland Monsters will be taking hockey to the streets this summer with the Monsters 2018 Street Hockey Series. The series will be offered at four of the Monsters’ 2018 Certified Learn to Play Program rinks, and will include a final event at Nautica Entertainment Complex in the Flats on Saturday, Aug. 4.
For just a $5 donation to the Monsters Community Fund, area children ages 5-14, regardless of hockey experience, will receive USA Hockey-certified instruction in the fundamentals of stick-handling, shooting and passing from local youth hockey coaches. By participating in the team’s summer street hockey clinics, children also will receive a Monsters Grow the Game T-shirt and a complimentary ticket to a 2018-19 Monsters game. Street hockey sticks will be provided for the event; no outside hockey sticks are allowed.
Dates are: June 2 at Gilmour Academy; July 23 in Elyria North Park Ice Arena; July 7 in Brooklyn Recreation Center; and July 21 at Cleveland Heights Community Center.
