On Nov. 12, a new streaming service swept the nation. By now, you surely have heard about Disney+. The long awaited streaming service by Disney has been years in the making. The company tried a few things along the way, but knew it could not live up to all it envisioned, so Disney waited until it was perfected.
On Aug. 23 at the D23 Expo in Anaheim, Calif., the first live testing of Disney+ service was shown to the general public. That day, Disney started taking orders for its streaming services.
Today, Disney+ is the dedicated streaming home for entertainment from Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, National Geographic and more. From “Moana” to “Toy Story,” “Captain Marvel” to “Star Wars: The Force Awakens,” Disney+ offers some of the best stories in the world, all in one place.
Disney+ also has added original content like “The Mandalorian,” the Star Wars origin story of a bounty hunter from the same realm as Boba Fett. There’s also a Disney Christmas story, “Noelle,” with Anna Kendrick, a live action “Lady and the Tramp,” “High School Musical – the series,” “The World According to Jeff Goldblum,” and much more. We haven’t even mentioned Mickey Mouse yet — that’s right, you can watch the Mickey Mouse Through the Years category, including “Steamboat Willie” and all of your favorite Mickey classics.
To get started — and take advantage of the limited free trial — download the app to your smartphone, install the app on your SmartTV, or go to disneyplus.com and log in. If you are a Verizon Unlimited customer, you can get a one-year subscription for free.
Now that Disney+ is running through your veins, go to Disney Parks & Resorts and experience it all first-hand. You’ve watched the Star Wars saga, now travel to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge in person. Your children have enjoyed all the Toy Story movies — bring them down to Disney’s Hollywood Studios to experience Andy’s Backyard in Toy Story Land. Maybe your family is more into the Cars series. Take a trip to Disneyland, where you will stroll down Route 66, hop into a car and test your speed on Radiator Springs Racers, surrounding yourself in the fully immersive Cars Land. Disney Parks & Resorts have masterfully created experiences that bring their movies to life. Up next is a Marvel experience in Disneyland that will be known as Avengers Campus.
