A Tail-Wagging Event in Akron

They may be the new kid in town, but local doggy daycare, Downtown Akron Doggies, is greeting the greater Akron-area with a tail-wagging public event. To celebrate its grand opening, the facility will be hosting a free pet-friendly open house on Sunday, February 1 at their brand new location from 11 a.m.-3 p.m.

But this isn’t your average open house. Sure there will be tours, but that’s just the tip of the tail. Visitors on the 1st will have the chance to partake in a variety of fun activities.

Want to capture you and your fur-baby in art? Caricature artist James Weckbacher will be onsite sketching free caricatures of pet owners with their pets.

Complimentary snacks and drinks will also be available. Or visitors can purchase a hot dog or sausage sandwiches from Stray Dog Grille’s popular food cart. Fido will also be fed too with free doggie treats provided by Doggie Delicious Dog Treats and More. There will also be a drawing every hour to win a variety of prizes including a basket full of treats and toys donated by the company.

For those looking to keep their pooches healthy and pampered, Dr. Morrow from mobilefamilypetvet.com, will be on site with her mobile pet service offering free toenail trims. The mobile clinic will also be available to offer other vet services to customers (at their own expense).

What about those thinking about expanding their pet families? Making an appearance at the event, Greyhound Adoption of Ohio will be have several adoptable greyhounds visiting for a meet and greet with potential new owners.
