Fly a Kite and Help Set a Guinness World Record for ‘Soaring Hearts’

Crossroads Health announced its Inaugural Biennial fundraiser, Soaring Hearts. The community is invited to join them at Headlands Beach State Park for an official attempt to set a Guinness World Record for the most kites flown simultaneously.

This event will be held at Headlands Beach State Park on May 21 at 2 p.m. at Headlands Beach State Park, 9601 Headlands Rd, Mentor.

Crossroads Health is a trauma-informed, evidence- and community-based non-profit behavioral and primary health care center dedicated to providing a comprehensive continuum of services to children, adolescents, young people, adults and seniors throughout all stages of life.

“The concept for Soaring Hearts directly aligns our outreach efforts and special events with our community-based mission, vision, and values,” says James Wyman, Crossroads Health’s chief development officer. “Our partnership with Guinness World Record and our many community collaborators, including local and state partners such as Headlands Beach State Park—Department of Natural Resources, City of Mentor Police and Fire Departments, the Lake County Sheriff’s Office, and the Lake County Visitors Bureau, just to name a few, make this is an event like no other. With Soaring Hearts, we come together to celebrate and embrace our shared humanity and paint the sky with color and movement.”

Soaring Hearts is an outdoor event organized to ensure safety for all. Attendance numbers will be limited to ensure appropriate social distancing during the event on the lake-front beach acreage. Everyone is welcome to join, with or without a kite.
