Free ‘Cycle Canalway’ Offers Self-Guided Bike Rides on Towpath Trail

Canalway Partners has launched Cycle Canalway, a free event that offers 12 self-guided, leisure bike rides through the Towpath Trail. The curated rides for all experience levels let riders participate on their own schedules.

Through September 30, register at and receive access to:

Adventure Guide: Everything you need to plan your day on the Towpath, from directions and where to park, to mileage and terrain, descriptions and links to the incredible historic and natural sights you’ll experience, activities you can enjoy on the trail, and a guide to nearby attractions. 

  • Joy Rides – Family-friendly or beginner bike rides. (3-9 miles)
  • Jaunt Rides – Regular cyclists (16-21 miles)
  • Journey Rides – Experienced cyclists seeking an enhanced ride (26-34 miles)

Mapped Rides: 12 rides mapped for all skill levels, from beginners and families hitting the Towpath Trail for the first time to experienced cyclists hungry for more to explore. Choose your own adventure; participants can start at either end of the selected routes. Starting points are all throughout the greater Cleveland area and Akron. 

Chance to Win Prizes: Complete one or more rides before September 28. When you share your photos on social media using the hashtag #CycleCanalway20, you’ll automatically be entered to win a weekly prize package (some valued at over $300). New prize packages and previous weeks’ winners will be announced every Tuesday on the  Canalway Partners website and social media outlets.
