Gilmour Academy Hosts ‘Tuesdays at Tudor’ Summer Concert Series

On the third Tuesday of each month this summer – June 20, July 18 and Aug. 15 – world-class artists will perform at Gilmour Academy’s Tudor House as part of its new “Tuesdays at Tudor” summer concert series.

Concerts will include:

June 20 — “The Magical Music of the Movies,” featuring pianist Marshall Griffith and flutist Virginia Crabtree.
July 18 — “Duos and Trios,” featuring Solomon Liang on the violin, Chauncy Aceret on the cello and Amy Tan on the piano.
Aug. 15 — piano solo by a past winner of the Cleveland International Piano Competition.

Each event will begin with wine and light hors d’oeuvres in Tudor House and Tudor Gardens at 6 p.m. followed by a one-hour concert beginning at 6:30 p.m. These concerts are free and open to the public. Reservations are required. To RSVP, contact Jacqui Lundi at [email protected] or (440) 684-4591.

The concert series is made possible through the sponsorship of Gilmour alumnus and current parent Matthew Figgie, Figgie Capital and The Figgie Foundation. The series will be done in partnership with Steinway Piano Gallery Cleveland, the Cleveland International Piano Competition and ArtsConnect. The artists will perform on the school’s brand new Steinway Spirio grand piano, the fifth Steinway grand piano to arrive on campus.

In December 2016, three new Steinway grand pianos were delivered to Gilmour, which began the process of the school being designated a Steinway Select K-12 School. This distinction means that every piano on Gilmour’s campus will soon be replaced with a new Steinway & Sons grand piano.
