Celebrating Leap Year with your kids can be a fun and educational experience. As the calendar adds an extra day every four years, it’s an excellent opportunity to teach children about time, calendars, and the Earth’s orbit around the sun. After School Leap Day Hike. Join a naturalist for a brisk winter hike celebrating the day that happens nearly every 4 years! Let’s Talk Leap Day. Join instructor Angelina Verginis for this workshop on Thursday, February 29! Students will make watercolor planets, mixed media solar systems, and sun faces as they learn about Leap Day. Students in sixth through eighth grade are invited to attend this workshop.
