Evening Explorers: Nocturnal Wonders at Lake Erie Nature & Science Center.   Meet animal ambassadors in a Wonders of Wildlife encounter, see the stars and more in Schuele Planetarium, and visit our indoor and outdoor exhibits featuring natural history, space science, and live animals. 5 to 7 p.m. $15 per person. Schoepfle Children’s Garden Birthday. Lorain County Metro Parks, Celebrate 19 years of Children’s Garden fun with crafts, games and carousel rides. No registration is required. 1-3 p.m. Visit here for info.

Dog Hike. Bring your best furry friend to the park for some exercise and socialization at Cleveland Metroparks North Chagrin Reservation. Visit here  for info. Free

Old Fashion Picnic. Come to Painesville Township Park with a variety of fun “old-fashioned” family-friendly activities and more. Pack a picnic and spend the evening with family and friends celebrating the park’s history that has drawn visitors to the beauty of Lake Erie, both past and present. Drop-by: Eastern Box Turtle Meet & Greet. Stop by Brecksville Nature Center to meet one of Ohio’s only terrestrial turtles, the eastern box turtle, learn about their adaptations for survival and make a craft at  Free. Visit here for info

Jurassic in the Park. Dinosaurs and other prehistoric creatures have taken over the Medina County Parks District’s Susan Hambley Nature Center. Stop in between 12 to 5 p.m.  to learn more about what our area looked like when dinosaurs called it home. Visit here for info.
