Spooky Autumn Fest at Tower City

It’s time to put on those costumes and grab some candy at local trick or treating events.  Also, check out these not-so-scary Halloween events.

October 18-20 and 25-27

Trick-or-Treat Fest at the Cleveland Zoo. Trick-or-Treat Fest includes meet-and-greets with costumed characters, access to over a dozen trick-or-treat stations along Wayside Furniture Way, and the Monster Mash Dance Party presented by CrossCountry Mortgage. Boo at the Zoo, Akron Zoo

Boo at the Zoo.  No tricks, all treats! Put on your costume, grab a candy bag and head to the zoo for this extraordinary Halloween experience. Visit 12 different themed stations around the zoo to collect treats. Akron Zoo, akronzoo.org 

October 18

Quirk-O-Ween. Cuyahoga Falls Parks and Recreation will host Quirk-O-Ween at Quirk Cultural Center, 1201 Grant Ave., on Friday, October 18, from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Activities include trick-or-treating, crafts, snacks, and an inflatable haunted house.  Admission to this event is free. cityofcf.com/events/quirk-o-ween

October 19

Trick or Trunk Block Party. Free community afternoon event celebrating Halloween in a fun and safe environment. Great way for kids to show off their costumes while collecting candy and goodies from local companies and their decorated trunks! Noon-2 p.m. Mentor Nissan, 6960 Center Street, Mentor.

Trick or Treat Street at the IX Center

IX Center Trick or Treat Street. Little ghosts and goblins will make their way through creatively themed “not-so-spooky” Halloween houses in a safe, climate-controlled environment. But wait, there’s more than just candy! Surrounded by fall foliage including pumpkins and larger than life decorations, trick or treaters will enjoy kiddie rides and live entertainment scheduled throughout the day. Mall-O-Ween at Belden Village. Kids are welcome to dress in their favorite costumes and visit each store for a trick-or-treating adventure! Welcome to all kids 12 and under. Pumpkins and Piranhas. The not-so-spooky bash features an activity booklet spotlighting misunderstood animals, underwater jack-o’-lanterns, costumed diver interactions, Halloween-themed décor and music, animal encounters, pop-up appearances by our friendly landshark mascot Finn and a rotating array of nightly entertainment that ranges from face painting to bubbles to fortune telling. Tricks and Treats at Crocker Park. This event has fun entertainment for children, some yummy special treats, local vendors, and most importantly, Trick or Treating at the stores (while supplies last). Just Treats Halloween Party Malleys. Stop into a Malley’s location  on October 26th between 11 a.m.-1 p.m. for a spooktacular Halloween party and enjoy some sweet treats! Malloween at Great Northern Mall. Children 10 and under can kick off Halloween by dressing up in their favorite costumes (no full facial masks or toy weapons please) and stroll the mall for treats! Great Lakes Mall Candy Crawl. Families will enjoy a fun, interactive location for kids to sport their best costumes and trick-or-treat. During this festive event, guests are invited to parade through the center to collect candy and treats from participating stores.
