Mentor Public Library patrons now have a way to pick up their books, videos and more without even leaving their car. The drive-thru at its Main Branch—8215 Mentor Ave., Mentor— is open for business.
Patrons can now put items on hold—either by calling the library or on MPL’s website, mentorpl.org—and specify that they want to pick them up at the drive-thru. The drive-thru will open each day at the same time as Main Branch—9 a.m. on Monday through Saturday, 11 a.m. on Sunday—and will close 15 minutes before the branch does each evening. This will ensure that all patrons in the drive-thru line get their items before the building closes.
Along with the drive-thru, there are changes coming to the traffic flow around MPL’s Main Branch.
The drive-thru lane is now exit only. Also, drivers will only be able to turn right from the drive-thru onto Mentor Avenue to prevent traffic backup.
Additionally, the library has added a concrete barrier lift gate with sensors in front of the drive-thru’s transaction window as a safety precaution.
